  Dr. Zara has totally destroyed my Wife’s back. After my Wife had a lengthy discussion with Zara about her pain and symptoms, Zara was very forward in her certainty that she knew what the issue my Wife was experiencing was, and that she could treat and assist my Wife’s recovery. At my Wife’s first consultation and treatment, my Wife was very clear to Zara that she did not want any kind of manual adjustment to her back or spine, which Zara assured would not happen. Following her second session, my Wife began feeling intense lower back pain which she had never had before. We consulted Zara the following day after the pain continued to increase in severity to the point where my Wife struggled to stand and walk. Zara told us it was nothing to worry about and when we told her we wanted to go to another doctor or the hospital to have it checked, Zara was very pushy in insisting that we do not go to have it checked and that it would subside. It has been nearly 3 months and my Wife is still experiencing this ongoing pain. During this time we have consulted Zara who caused this, and she has shown no regard or care whatsoever, and even insisted that my Wife continue with the treatment that has caused her this pain. When we displayed our dissatisfaction with the treatment we have received and that we long longer wanted to continue, Zara conveniently became nearly impossible to get hold of and never returned our calls. It was only through advising we wanted to continue with the treatment and making an appointment for this were we able to speak to Zara and then request a refund in person. She was very difficult about a refund and only provided a partial refund, all the while displaying no interest or concern for the condition my Wife now has as a result of her questionable treatment. We have since spoken with a number of other chiropractors and osteopaths who after we explained the treatment Zara performed on my Wife, advised that Zara did in fact perform a manual adjustment on my Wife, despite my Wife’s strict request not to. We have also been informed by these other doctors that the other treatment completed on my Wife by Zara at Amara Wellness is not a chiropractic treatment, despite Zara telling us that it was a chiropractic method. We made a number of requests to Zara both over the phone and via email for my Wife’s treatment records to assist us and other doctors in assisting my Wife to recover from this ongoing pain. Zara continued to refuse providing us with my Wife’s records. It was only until we advised Zara that she has a legal obligation to provide these that she then emailed these through. After reading the records we found no mention of the drop bed adjustment that Zara performed on my Wife twice, advising that it was only a “stretch”. After multiple attempts to contact Zara after this we eventually were able to questions her as to why this is not in the records and that we were aware that this treatment was an adjustment and not a “stretch” as she claimed. Zara then denied ever doing this to my Wife and was very aggressive over the phone that she didn’t do anything and that the pain my Wife now has was a pre-existing conditions which she diagnosed. This is completely false as Zara never once mentioned this to my Wife during any appointment and was not the reason my Wife initially spoke to Zara to begin with. We have since submitted a complaint for investigation by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. Zara is extremely questionable in the method of treatment provided and very much driven by selling and money. I would advise extreme caution and recommend seeing any other alternate professional before visiting this business.
